Saint Geminian – Ancient oil painting on canvas, 19th century.
The beautiful painting follows the traditional iconography of Saint Geminian, inspired by the famous model by Bartolomeo Schedoni housed in the Cathedral of Modena.
The painting depicts the bishop saint in a bust, wearing a beautiful red chasuble damask with yellow, featuring an embroidered stole with figures of saints. In his hands, he holds the model of the city of Modena. Two cherubs hold, respectively, the miter and the crozier. Period gilded wooden frame.
The canvas is set in a splendid antique frame, made of carved wood and gilded with gold leaf, characterized by elegant volutes and floral motifs.
