Saint Geminianus – antique oil painting on canvas, 19th century.
The beautiful painting follows the traditional iconography of Saint Geminianus, inspired by the renowned model by Bartolomeo Schedoni preserved in the Cathedral of Modena.
The painting depicts the bishop saint in a bust, wearing a beautiful red chasuble damask with yellow, featuring a stole embroidered with figures of saints. In his hands, he holds a small model of the city of Modena. Two cherubs hold the mitre and the crosier, respectively. Period gilded wooden frame.
The canvas is set in a splendid antique frame, made of carved wood and gilded with gold leaf, characterized by elegant volutes and floral motifs.
