Pittore alessandrino, Cristoforo De Amicis (Alessandria, 1902 – Milano, 1987) iniziò l’insegnamento all’Accademia di Brera presso la Scuola Artefici, di cui diventò direttore nel 1955; sempre a Brera, ebbe dal 1935 l’incarico dell’insegnamento di Ornato Disegnato e, dal 1936, di Figura disegnata al Liceo Artistico, che mantenne fino al 1972. Dal 1951 al 1955 tenne la cattedra di Pittura all’Accademia di Brera.
La sua produzione pittorica si articolò tra il 1924 e il 1987 e comprese nature morte, paesaggi, autoritratti, madonne, Arlecchini, mentre il tema del nudo divenne preponderante dagli anni ’20 sino alla tarda maturità. Le sue opere furono presentate in 37 mostre personali tra il 1928 e il 1981 prevalentemente a Milano e in Lombardia, mentre dal 1927 l’artista fu presente alle più importanti manifestazioni d’arte sia italiane che internazionali.

A painter from Alessandria, Cristoforo De Amicis (Alessandria, 1902 - Milan, 1987) began teaching at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts at the Scuola Artefici, of which he became director in 1955; still at Brera, he had from 1935 the charge of teaching Ornato Disegnato and, from 1936, of Figura disegnato at the Liceo Artistico, which he held until 1972. From 1951 to 1955 he held the chair of Painting at the Brera Academy.
His painting production spanned from 1924 to 1987 and included still lifes, landscapes, self-portraits, madonnas, Harlequins, while the nude theme became predominant from the 1920s until late maturity. His works were presented in 37 solo exhibitions between 1928 and 1981 mainly in Milan and Lombardy, while from 1927 the artist was present at the most important art events both Italian and international.
