Extremely rare headscarf "trimming" in "Point de Gaze" lace, needle-made in Brussels in the second half of the 19th century.
This type of needle lace, characterized by floral motifs, also known as "Point de Gauze", developed from 1830 in Brussels and soon spread throughout Europe. Technically very similar to Alençon lace, it is distinguished by a very light, soft, almost impalpable net background, created by the torsion of two very thin threads and with small pieces assembled together imperceptibly.
Approximately 125 cm in length, taking into account the era in which it was produced, it is in excellent state of preservation and, if you wish to wear it, it can be used as a jabot or a small scarf.
