Extendable Piedmontese walnut basket table, 19th century.
Restoration Period
Measurements: 80 × 160 × 130 cm
This is an elegant extendable basket table, typical of Piedmontese production from the first half of the 19th century, dating back to the Restoration period (circa 1815–1848). Made of solid walnut, it features an oval-shaped top with a wavy profile, with warm, natural grains that highlight the quality of the wood. The edge of the top is slightly shaped, contributing to its sober yet refined appearance.
To be restored.
The structure is supported by four elegantly shaped curved legs, joined by a characteristic lower basket shelf, a distinctive feature of this type of table. The turned central support acts as a visual and structural fulcrum, giving the piece balance and solidity.
