Vienna, first quarter of the 19th century. Interesting and decorative wall clock called "Ramenuhr", literally translated "frame clock", from the early Biedermeier period with an unusual neo-Gothic taste, with great decorative effect and refinement. Carved and gold-leaf gilded frame in early 19th century neo-Gothic style. Complicated grand sonnerie mechanism (capable of repeating all hours every quarter and not just from one to three chimes) with repetition of hours, half hours and quarters. Vienna, first quarter of the 19th century. Larger in size than the more frequently seen Ramenuhr. Cm. 72x52. Work intact also in the gilding and in working order. Highly decorative and to be placed in a luxurious context.
