The structure of this beautiful piece of furniture is both elegant and imposing, created according to the late seventeenth-century syntax and dating back to the transition period between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. It features three drawers on the front, which presents with an elegant inward curve that underlines it entirely. Equally elegant are the geometries and designs of the walnut root, both vertical and herringbone, in alternation. The masterful use of walnut root on both the drawers and the front of the piece creates particularly refined chromatic effects. The ebonized front moldings and the gently geometric rhomboidal inlays of the slightly projecting upper top indicate the Lombardy-Emilia area as the origin of the piece of furniture. The still seventeenth-century feet refine the curves of the front and flat sides.
