Importante opera del 1975 di Giuseppe Guerreschi, tra i protagonisti della Nuova Figurazione italiana, caratterizzata da una potente sintesi tra figura, simbolo e tensione narrativa.
La composizione, di grande formato quadrato, raffigura una giovane donna seduta in posa artificiosamente elegante, con lunghe calze e scarpe dal tacco massiccio, elemento che rimanda a un immaginario urbano e contemporaneo. Il corpo, reso con precisione quasi fotografica, contrasta con la presenza di una grande testa scultorea stilizzata che sostituisce il volto, decorata con motivi geometrici e tribali. Sullo sfondo compare un paesaggio urbano semplificato, con sagome architettoniche e una piramide, mentre in alto a sinistra emerge un piccolo simbolo rosso, ulteriore elemento concettuale che accentua il clima sospeso e straniante dell’opera.
La scena unisce figurazione e citazione simbolica, riflettendo il clima culturale e politico degli anni Settanta.

An important work from 1975 by Giuseppe Guerreschi, one of the leading figures of Italian New Figuration, characterized by a powerful synthesis of figure, symbol, and narrative tension.
The large square composition depicts a young woman sitting in an artificially elegant pose, wearing long stockings and shoes with chunky heels, an element that refers to an urban and contemporary imagery. The body, rendered with almost photographic precision, contrasts with the presence of a large stylized sculptural head that replaces the face, decorated with geometric and tribal motifs. In the background is a simplified urban landscape with architectural silhouettes and a pyramid, while in the upper left corner there is a small red symbol, another conceptual element that accentuates the suspended and alienating atmosphere of the work.
The scene combines figuration and symbolic reference, reflecting the cultural and political climate of the 1970s.
