Veduta veneziana raffigurante un ampio campo dominato da un ponte monumentale animato da numerose figure in transito. La composizione, equilibrata e ben strutturata, conduce lo sguardo lungo l’asse centrale del ponte, enfatizzato dall’obelisco e dalle balaustre prospettiche, mentre sullo sfondo si delineano le architetture lagunari rese con sobrietà e precisione.
La scena è pervasa da una luce attenuata, coerente con il titolo dell’opera, che contribuisce a creare un’atmosfera sospesa e quotidiana. I toni sono delicati e armonizzati su una gamma di grigi, beige e verdi chiari, ravvivati dalla presenza discreta delle figure, trattate con rapida ma efficace pennellata.
Opera rappresentativa della produzione matura dell’artista, inseribile nel filone della pittura di veduta e di genere tra la fine del XIX e il primo Novecento.

Venetian view depicting a large square dominated by a monumental bridge animated by numerous figures in transit. The balanced and well-structured composition leads the eye along the central axis of the bridge, emphasized by the obelisk and the perspective balustrades, while the lagoon architecture is outlined in the background with sobriety and precision.
The scene is pervaded by a subdued light, consistent with the title of the work, which contributes to creating a suspended, everyday atmosphere. The tones are delicate and harmonized in a range of grays, beiges, and light greens, enlivened by the discreet presence of the figures, rendered with quick but effective brushstrokes.
