Ancient sculpture made entirely of terracotta depicting an elderly man in a half-bust, dressed in an antique tunic. The expression of the portrayed character, as well as the deep folds of the tunic, are expertly reproduced by the artist's hand, leaving no room for idealistic transfigurations and faithfully conveying the visual data, that of a person in the twilight of his years, etched on his face by the inexorable passage of time. The drapery possesses a strong plastic connotation due to the strong chiaroscuro visible under raking light. The bust of the aged man concludes at the bottom, resting on a circular pedestal that gives the ensemble a measured dynamism. Material: Terracotta.
