A refined high and low relief sculpture with "full round" parts. A work of particular compositional quality and beautiful "golden" proportions. The classic triangular shape and exceptional drapery give lightness to the whole. Clearly inspired by 15th-century Tuscan art, the Madonna's sweet and absorbed face and the innocent face of the Child looking at the Mother are exceptional. The hands are beautiful and the traditional separation of the knees symbolizes fertility and Mother Earth.
