The truncated cone body is articulated by a succession of concentric circular moldings that progressively narrow towards the top, giving the shape a well-paced pyramidal trend. The lid, of the same make, ends with a multi-step turned knob. The base is shaped and rests on spherical feet. The exotic wood used directly refers to the trade routes of the East India Companies, through which precious raw materials from Asia and the Americas reached European markets during the 17th century, fueling a production of writing and pharmacy items intended for a cultured and wealthy clientele.
