Important monumental wrought iron anvil-bickern on a wooden base  Translated
Dimensions: : cm,: cm,: cm
Description:
Materials: hand-forged wrought iron, turned solid wood base. Important and rare, large-sized anvil-bickern, made entirely of wrought iron. The object features the classic configuration of two horns (one conical and one pyramidal) joined to a robust central shaft with a square cross-section, tapered downwards. The formal structure highlights a skilled forging technique typical of ancient blacksmithing crafts. The iron surface shows the characteristic signs of hot working, giving the piece an authentic materiality and a historically captivating patina. The bickern is housed on an elegant wooden base, finely turned with circular moldings and resting on a quadrangular plinth, which elevates its status from a mere work tool to a true decorative art object. This example represents a significant testament to industrial archaeology and pre-industrial metalworking craftsmanship. The meticulous detailing of the base suggests it was intended for a high-level workshop or a representative function within a guild. European manufacture, dating to the late 17th century. The state of preservation is excellent, the object maintains its structural integrity with a beautiful natural oxidation of the metal and a warm patina of the wood attesting to its age. Overall height of the stand 100 cm, Width 58 cm. Base dimensions: 22*22*46 cm  Translated
