Walnut wood veneered writing desk. Italy, first half of the 19th century. 147 x 77 x h 85 cm. Writing desk entirely veneered in walnut, on turned spool feet. The front features seven drawers arranged in three tiers: the top tier has three drawers side-by-side with a central pull-out drawer; in the lower tiers, the deeper side drawers are housed in the two blocks flanking the central open compartment. The corner posts are molded. The original oxidized metal locks are preserved. The top has a shaped molded perimetral border. Condition report: Good general condition, with signs of use and aging consistent with the period. Conservative restoration is recommended.
