Elegant Piedmontese Louis XVI walnut armchair, dating to around 1780, characterized by harmonious lines and a refined neoclassical design. The structure, of excellent craftsmanship, has a warm original patina that enhances the essential and balanced design of the furniture.
The shaped back with a sinuous profile elegantly connects to the curved "horn"-shaped armrests, a distinctive element of late 18th-century taste, supported by linear and slender uprights. The tapered tronconical legs, finely fluted at the end, fully recall the Louis XVI decorative lexicon.
The seat and padding have been subsequently reupholstered with striped fabric in warm tones of orange, pink, and ochre, in good general condition and well-matched to the wooden structure. The ensemble retains remarkable proportional elegance and a pleasant balance between formal sobriety and comfort.
