Like his father, Carlo sr Markò, and his brother, Carlo jr Markò, Andreas must be considered Italian due to his long stay in Florence, his adopted homeland. As a landscape painter, his canvases depicting locations in Italy and Russia were particularly admirable, reproduced with vigorous technique and color. He was awarded prizes in Florence in 1860 and at the International Exhibition in Vienna in 1873, and he sold his Italian landscapes primarily in America.
