A pair of Louis XV mirrors of Venetian manufacture, in carved and gilded wood, adorned with carved ornamental motifs typical of the Rococo taste of the 18th century, although still strongly influenced by Baroque elements, with vegetal shoots and flowers that create a sinuous profile.
The upper part is surmounted by a large openwork floral motif, typical of the 18th-century decorative repertoire. The internal shape in which the mirror is set, with its shaped sides, and the complexity of the details highlight the grace and elegance typical of Venetian craftsmanship of this period, demonstrating excellent technical skill on the part of the master carver.
CONDITION:
Considering the fragility and age of the two pieces, the condition is good. Restorations. Antique mirrors, mercury-silvered, with defects consistent with their age.
