Triptych of vases in Swedish green marble and gilded bronze, France, mid-19th century  Translated
Description:
Triptych of vases in Swedish green marble and gilded bronze, France, mid-19th century Origin: France Period: first half of the 19th century. The triptych of vases consists of two smaller, identical vases and a main one with more elaborate decorations. The two small vases have a rounded body and lid; the two handles on the sides are made of refined vegetal motifs and the pedestal is also decorated with finely chiseled leafy elements. The main vase has an even more rounded shape and is characterized by splendid gilded and chiseled handles in the form of ram heads: note the meticulously crafted details on the animal, such as the band under the ears and the vine shoots that surround the fur under the ram's chin. The three lids are adorned with classic gilded pinecones with leaves underneath. The chosen material, Swedish green marble, is distinguished by its peculiar shade of green with veins between dark green, beige, and gray.  Translated
