Rare and elegant Italian Art Deco bedroom set produced in Italy in the 1940s, consisting of a chest of drawers and a pair of matching nightstands, with design attributable to Paolo Buffa.
The set is characterized by a refined black lacquered structure enhanced by elegant maple profiles and parchment-covered fronts, creating a sophisticated contrast of materials and tones. Original brass handles and keys enrich the design with understated decorative details, while the tops are finished with black glass.
The chest of drawers features an ingenious configuration: although the front part appears to be composed of nine small drawers, it actually contains three large drawers and three smaller ones, offering both aesthetic balance and practical storage. The nightstands perfectly echo the sculptural lines and refined proportions of the chest, creating a harmonious and highly distinctive ensemble.
