Elegant Carlo X style biscuit table, made in Italy in the mid-19th century. The top, of beautiful wavy and shaped form, is finely veneered in walnut with a refined herringbone pattern centered by a geometric reserve. The quality of the grain, particularly warm and lively, gives the piece significant decorative presence. The table rests on an important turned central support, richly carved with foliage motifs and echoes still linked to the neoclassical taste, while evolving towards the softer, more rounded lines typical of the Louis Philippe style. The four curved legs end in elegant carved volutes. The completely disassembled structure is also very interesting: the top can be easily separated from the support via pins located under the top itself, a practical and rare feature. A piece of excellent craftsmanship, ideal both in classic environments and in more contemporary settings as a living room table, centerpiece, or elegant gueridon. Condition: Good general condition. The top shows slight signs of age and varnish; a light re-polishing is optionally recommended, an intervention that can be agreed upon.
