The signature is attributable to the Italian painter Vittorio Bussolino (Turin, 1853 – 1922). The painter depicts a splendid plain, probably of Northern Italy, on a sunny day. In the foreground on the left, a flock grazes peacefully under the watchful eye of a shepherd sitting in the shade of a large tree.
