Refined carved and gilded wooden console, Papal States, 18th century. The console is characterized by a rich foliate ornamental apparatus and a scenic sculptural composition. It features a shaped top painted in faux marble and rests on a central support finely carved with volutes, foliage, rocaille elements, and vegetal motifs.
The entire structure rests on a shaped base, on which two full-round carved putti stand, depicted in a dynamic pose as they ideally support the upper structure.
