Crystal and gilded bronze centerpiece, finely chiseled, second half of the 19th century.
Origin: France
Dimensions: h. 47.5 x d. 45 cm.
This splendid centerpiece is made of cut crystal and gilded bronze decorations.
The flared bowl features diamond-point cuts that embellish it. The base, supported by a pedestal also made of chiseled crystal, is primarily composed of finely chiseled gilded bronze: three large golden pheasants are the protagonists.
The pedestal is enclosed by a gilded bronze structure that echoes the decorations of the base, completed by three mascarons under each pheasant. Finally, the centerpiece rests on three gilded claw feet.
