Valuable oval painting executed with the oil on canvas technique, depicting the sacred iconography of the Crucifixion. The composition shows Christ on the cross flanked by two praying angels immersed in an atmosphere of deep devotion and spiritual contemplation.
The work is distinguished by its excellent executive quality, attributable to the Piedmontese school. The anatomical rendering of Christ and the delicate drapery of the angels' garments reflect the mature artistic sensibility of the period. The painting is preserved on its original canvas, maintaining the integrity of the original support.
The work is embellished by a splendid contemporary frame in carved and gilded wood. The decoration of the frame features a refined external fluting and a dense internal beadwork, elements typical of late Baroque and Neoclassical decorative taste.
The object dates to the second half of the 18th century (18th century) and comes from a workshop in the Piedmontese area.
Its state of conservation is good, consistent with the age of the artifact.
