Chest of drawers - writing desk veneered in rosewood, France, late 18th century, front with three drawers separated by crossbars decorated with a meander-patterned profile, the first drop-down front opens to reveal a compartment and four drawers. Fluted inlaid pilasters with gilded bronze frieze, apron adorned with a gilded bronze scroll motif, straight sides, metal sabots, breccia marble top. Stamped "J B Tuart" (maitre in 1760) on the top under the marble, provenance Lucien Vigneau gallery, Paris, 95x82x43.5 cm
