Description:
Vienna 1815-20. Rare and elegant chair from the early Biedermeier period, intact, veneered in cherry burl, with ebonized details. Height 93 cm, seat 49 cm, width 46 cm, depth 44 cm. In practically intact condition with shellac finishing applied by hand over the original patina. Observe the last photo on this page, which is a fantasy computer simulation where the original work is virtually imagined in a high-end modern furnishing context. N.B. The other furnishings in the photo, excluding our original offered work, are not ours/available but are computer-simulated. Virtually associated with them, the astonishing "modernity," luminosity, and abstraction of a work conceived over two centuries ago emerge. With a great touch of class and elegance to the ensemble. The high-level Viennese antique cabinetmaking of the Neoclassical period (1770-1830), with its sober and minimalist elegance and precious, light woods, aligns very well with the lines of contemporary modern furniture. Even a single, perfect, original piece can serve as a focal point in high-end contemporary interiors! The early design of the Viennese masters of the early Biedermeier period = clean lines, lightness, precious wood veneers, great craftsmanship. Compact dimensions and compatibility with modern apartments. A feeling of everyday and functional elegance. Perfect for minimalist contemporary interiors. A unique piece for discreet and refined luxury. For these reasons, along with its rarity, intact original Viennese works from this period, which are prototypes of modernism, are destined for significant economic revaluation over time and also represent a perfect investment. In accordance with the New Cultural Heritage Code, the selling company provides a detailed written photographic guarantee of originality and provenance of the sold works at the time of sale. The data used to describe the works and contained in the written guarantees are explicit determinations resulting from accurate and documented technical/historical/artistic investigations, including expert appraisals. Copying and duplication for commercial purposes and/or to describe other works for sale, even if they are considered similar in some way, are prohibited.
