Lombard console table, 18th century, inlaid with spool legs  Translated
Dimensions: : 81 cm,: 146 cm,: 40 cm
Description:
Particular Lombard area console table, dating to the second half of the 18th century. The item is distinguished by its elongated and shallow proportions, characteristics that make it ideal as a wall console or a passage furnishing element. This type was often used to support small cabinets, collectibles, or valuable decorative items. The structure is made of solid wood with a single-wood top, characterized by a beautiful patina of use. The frieze below the top features refined inlay decoration with stylized floral motifs, of a sober but elegant taste, typical of Lombard production of the period. The spool-turned legs, slender and well-proportioned, lend movement to the ensemble. Beneath the top, there is a system of iron bracing with criss-crossed elements: these appear to be the result of a subsequent intervention, probably added to consolidate the structure over time. Overall, the table appears authentic in materials and construction, albeit with some adaptations and rearrangements due to use and preservation over time. There are normal signs of wear, minor irregularities, and slight settling interventions, consistent with its age. An object of great charm and practicality, suitable for both classic and contemporary settings. Measurements: width 146 cm, depth 40 cm, height 81 cm.
