Description:
Oil on board painting, depicting an alpine landscape dominated by the snow-capped peak of the Rietzer Grieskogel, in the Innsbruck region of Austria. The scene is constructed through substantial textural layering, with dense impasto and relief applications achieved with a spatula. The pictorial surface presents an irregular texture, characterized by color overlaps and visible incisions in the pigment.
The composition shows a main mountain, placed in the center, with steep slopes rendered through variations of blue, ochre, and white. On the left side, two slender trees are distinguishable, set on a rocky slope treated with a range of deep greens and earth tones. The lower part features sparse vegetation and rocks, while in the background, other secondary peaks are visible, modeled by luminous contrasts.
Available with a custom-made 7 cm frame in antique fir wood, crafted in our restoration workshop.
