Antique and rare Turkomannic panel, entirely hand-embroidered: to hang on the wall, to place on the bed or on the table.
The word "susani" is always associated with the marvelous embroideries of Uzbekistan, in Central Asia. Uzbek women work in groups, producing a wide range of wonderful, highly decorative embroidered textiles. "Susani" derives from "susan" = needle.
It was in my private collection, now for sale.
