Description
The painting depicts a winter landscape of the Val di Susa, bathed in a cold, rarefied light that envelops the entire scene in a silent, contemplative atmosphere.
In the foreground, a stretch of soft, untouched snow unfolds like a luminous carpet, barely marked by faint tracks and interrupted by slender, bare shrubs. At the center of the composition stands a tall evergreen tree, laden with snow, which serves as the visual and vertical focal point of the work.
All around, delicate, snow-covered vegetation creates a subtle web of branches and bushes, while in the background a small rural building is glimpsed, partially hidden among the trees, a discreet sign of human presence. Further away, the mountain slopes dissolve into a range of blues and grays, merging with the sky in a single atmospheric vibration.
