Interesting wooden sculpture of a crucified Christ in the typical iconography of "Christus Patiens" with original polychromy and perizonium. The perizonium was executed by applying a compound of plaster and fabric, subsequently gilded with gold leaf, which is exceptionally well-preserved. Therefore, it is not carved but executed using this particular technique. The sculpture has recently been cleaned by a professional restoration studio, which has brought to light the ancient polychromy. It is in an excellent state of conservation, displaying vivid and saturated colors.
The sculptural work can be attributed to a master active in the first quarter of the 16th century in the central Apennines, between Umbria, Lazio, and Abruzzo.
The measurements of the Christ are approximately 80cm in height x 60cm in width.
