Rare set of four chairs from the early Biedermeier period. Austrian Empire, likely Upper Austria or Southern Bohemia, circa 1820. Veneered in blonde walnut burl with maple and painted maple wood inlays. The pieces are in excellent structural condition and retain their patina; consolidated and finished with a shellac polish applied by hand using standard museum techniques over the original patina. Upholstered in an elegant and luxurious ivory fabric. We apologize for the limited number of photos, which will be supplemented with detailed photos of each piece upon request.
