Splendid lacquered sideboard with two doors of considerable quality and importance, characterized by a crescent-shaped structural movement. The piece is entirely lacquered and retains its original, initially celestial lacquer, which over time has turned a soft, greenish hue. It features small genre allegories that refer to human virtues connected to nature or the cyclical nature of the seasons, rendered with superb pictorial quality. These figures are framed by elegant decorative borders in a classical style, composed of festoons, drapes, and bells, reminiscent of the sobriety of late imperial decorations.
The piece is in excellent conservative condition, both structurally and in terms of its luxurious lacquered decoration. It is typical of the lagoon areas of the lower Veneto or was likely executed for important Venetian furnishings, dating from between 1670 and 1720.
Tabletop with a single piece featuring a faux marble decoration that follows the architectural lines of the piece and its pilasters.
