Biography: An Italian painter who, since 1945, contributed to the affirmation of abstractionism in Italy with his painting. In 1947 he went to Paris for the first time where, thanks to Gino Severini, he met major international artists including Georges Braque, Fernand Léger, and Hans Arp, artists by whom he would be profoundly influenced. In 1948 he exhibited at the Quadriennale di Roma and at the "Salon des réalités nouvelles" in Paris; he often participated in the Venice Biennale.
