Rare, large and monumental Empire period bookcase, in practically intact condition. Measures 233x175x56 cm. Vienna 1810-1815. It is veneered in oak burl, with ebonized columns and details, typical of the era and origin. Given its size, it was probably placed in a castle, a manor house, or an important public office. It can be disassembled for easier transport with an ingenious and perfectly functioning original system. An imposing, sober, and elegant piece of furniture with patina, also perfect for a professional study or an ancient palace in a historic center. Consolidated and polished with shellac using a museum-standard technique on the original patina.
