Still life depicting "Stone shelf with apples", oil on canvas by Luca Forte (Naples c. 1605-c. 1670). Unpublished painting, never studied until today, attributed without any doubt by Prof. Nicola Spinosa to Luca Forte. Notable stylistic similarities with other paintings attributed to or signed by him, and particularly with the pair of octagonal canvases (same format) belonging to the collections of the Capodimonte Museum. Expertise by Prof. Nicola Spinosa is attached. The painting is in excellent condition and should be dated to the years immediately following 1630. It is set in a beautiful octagonal frame, not antique, but of excellent craftsmanship. Canvas dimensions 30x43, with frame 45.5x58
