Vienna, circa 1815-1820. Rare set of three early Viennese Biedermeier chairs, known as "Balloon-back" ("a mongolfiera"), in practically intact condition, veneered with burl walnut. Finished with museum-standard shellac applied by hand. Retains its original warm patina. Dimensions: 94 cm high, 43 cm wide, 44 cm deep, seat height 48 cm.
