Refined oval portrait, oil on canvas. The painting depicts a gentlewoman in typical period clothing, with a black dress adorned with a lace bow at the neck, and a fine necklace. The head is adorned with a veil, also black, while her face is positioned in three-quarter view, with her gaze turned to the right, of which a tasteful earring can also be seen. It is a portrait appreciable for its stylistic technique and realistic realization of the figure. On the right, the painter's signature is also visible: "A. Scognamiglio", attributable to the Neapolitan painter Annibale Scognamiglio, also famous for his production of portraits. Neapolitan manufacture of the second half of the 19th century.
