We offer you a precious pair of wooden angel candle holders, photographed here in the smallest details, carved, gilded, and polychrome with vigor around the end of the 17th century.
The winged figures, their bodies and faces caught frontally in an almost sacred attitude, are placed on bases with decorated plinths and are entirely gilded except for the flesh tones.
The two figures are depicted kneeling in a position of devotion or reverence, symmetrical to each other, with their legs in a chiastic position and their hands joined in prayer.
Sculptures of excellent workmanship and quality, finely carved; The presence of a large part of the polychromy and gilding is extraordinary for works of this period.
The conservation conditions are very good. We have undertaken a superficial cleaning of the gold to highlight its original beauty and touched up the polychromy in areas of wear.
