Giuseppe Vasi - Sacchetti Palace on Giulia Street
View designed and engraved by Giuseppe Vasi (1710-1782), who was one of the most important veduta engravers in 18th-century Rome and who was Piranesi's teacher. The view is taken from the monumental work Delle magnificenze di Roma antica e moderna, published in 10 volumes from 1747 to 1761, consisting of 23 copper engravings with narrative text providing historical and documentary information. It is etched in aquatint on laid paper and is in good condition. It is presented within a modern wooden frame. In the lower legend is the description of the monumental features of the view: Church of San Biagio alla Pagnotta; Church of Santa Maria del Suffragio; Carcere Nuove; Church of the Holy Spirit of the Neapolitans; Palazzo Falconieri; Arch of Palazzo Farnese and Apostolic College.
The last photo listed shows a series of three engravings by Vasi taken from the same work.
