Rare and unusual iron tool from the 15th-16th century with a bronze lion head on the end.
Probably a tool for daily use for butchery or other specific purposes.
Along the blade there is a crest with scissors, likely indicative of the workshop or craft that produced it.
For example, the crest of the blacksmiths guild of Florence is very similar. (see photo)
Furthermore, it is not excluded that from the pair of holes present, 2 vertical and 2 horizontal, other tools or additional blades were attached.
The terminal with the bronze lion head is beautiful, which also points to a Florentine origin.
We are attaching a certificate of authenticity to the sale.
