Louis XIV period
Liguria, 17th century

Splendid crest of a carved high-relief wooden pulpit with all the symbols of the Holy Roman Church.
The frieze depicts a composition of ecclesiastical elements arranged in a scenic manner and with notable volume.
The great thickness of the wooden panel allows the liturgical vestments and traditional sacred objects to be identified in their three-dimensionality.
In the central part, the Gospel adorned with the priestly stole and the pair of candlesticks with the key to the Heavenly Kingdom. Below the Gospel is the Holy Water bucket, while the sprinkler protrudes to the left of the Gospel.
