The antique painting "Still Life with Flowers" features a vase of spring flowers and peach or cherry blossoms, Art Nouveau period, a beautiful oil painting on canvas from the early 1900s, Art Deco. An enameled ceramic vase in warm and natural tones, containing a carefully arranged bouquet of spring flowers. The bouquet includes branches of laburnum with characteristic drooping yellow flowers, an antique pink rose, and delicate peach or cherry blossoms, rendered with soft and vibrant brushstrokes that enhance their chromatic luminosity. In the foreground, on a light-colored surface, are arranged some female toiletries: a white fan, a pink coral necklace, and a dark lacquered box. European Impressionism.
Antique paintings with flowers, still life of flowers signed on the upper left by Angelina Drumaux, a painter of floral still lifes, gardens, and seascapes.
Angelina-Marie-Eugénie Drumaux (1881-1959), a Belgian painter, was the daughter of Arthur Drumaux, a teacher at the Bouillon college and a poet. She studied at the Academy of Liège under Adrien De Witte. In 1902, she held her first solo exhibition at the Cercle Royal des Beaux-Arts in Liège, and in 1906, she participated in an exhibition at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool. From 1908, she participated in the Parisian Salons of the Société des Artistes Français. In 1913, she received the Triennial Prize for Painting. She was awarded the Order of Leopold in 1949. Many of this artist's paintings are in museums in Ghent, Liège, Arlon, and Paris (Musée du Luxembourg, Galerie du Jeu de Paume). She was one of the few artists of her generation to live off her work.
The antique painting is housed in a carved wooden frame. 1930s.
The antique frame and oil painting have been professionally and meticulously restored.
