Very rare table clock with automata. Circa 1810, Austria, Pressburg (present-day Bratislava), Empire period. Quarter repeater, with automatons and date function. Working and in excellent condition. Automata on the dial and bronze applications, marble columns. Mahogany wood case. Original mirror and glass (slight defect on the outer glass, intact dial). With each stroke of the repeat, the automatons on the dial move and strike the bells. Signed on the dial by the author = S c h m i d t Josef, promoted to Master by imperial decree in Preßburg, 1818. A similar work is kept in the Kreismuseum of Tyrnau (present-day Slovakia) Inv. Nr. 2418. One of the best watchmakers of the Austro-Hungarian Slovakia.
