The canvas depicts the spectacular view of the Basin of St. Mark with its iconic palaces and monuments.
In the foreground, the majestic Doge's Palace, dominated by the top of St. Mark's Campanile.
This is followed by the two famous columns on the edge of the Square and the Marciana National Library.
In the background, the entrance to the Grand Canal with the silhouettes of the Basilica of Santa Maria della Salute and the Dogana.
The Author expresses himself with an airy, luminous painting, with brushstrokes of great effectiveness in describing the magnificent setting, creating a surreal image of an already fantastic view.
The painting dates back to the early 20th century and is in excellent condition.
The canvas is complete with its original carved and gilded wooden frame.
