Refined set of six small Kutani porcelain cups with lids. The cups feature a ring foot with a signature on the bottom attributable to the manufacture, and a lobed lid with a flower-shaped grip. The objects are distinguished by decorations painted in shades of red, brown, and gold finishes; and concern various types of motifs, including geometric, floral and butterflies, which contribute to giving great elegance to the whole. It is also particular that the floral representation is found both inside the cup and inside the lid. This is a series of cups, used in Japan for Chawanmushi, a famous pudding served as an appetizer. These cups are objects of great taste and refinement, able to give a touch of class and antiquity to any environment. Japanese manufacture of Kutani, from the Meiji period, around the 19th century.
