We are pleased to present this oil painting on canvas from the first half of the 20th century. This splendid painting is signed in black on the bottom right: Karpoff. It is probably the work of the painter of Russian origin Ivan Karpoff (Novocercosk 1898 - Milan 1970), later an Italian citizen, lacking authentication. It is a beautiful winter landscape depicting a snowy countryside with bare trees. On the left, a small river flows along a path with two figures walking in the snow. The pictorial quality is evident in a very personal style, characterized by rapid and substantial brushstrokes that perfectly capture the rarefied winter atmosphere.
