We are pleased to present this early 20th-century oil painting on panel. This splendid nude of a young woman features a red signature on the back (not perfectly legible), likely G. De Sanctis, with the date 1901 (barely legible). Probably the work of the Italian painter Giuseppe De Sanctis (Naples, June 21, 1858 – Naples, June 18, 1924), lacking authentication. It is a fascinating painting in which a young woman is portrayed in all her sensuality. The reclining woman is partially covered by a white sheet that leaves her breasts uncovered. The woman has typically Mediterranean features: her thick black hair is gathered up, her red lips stand out against her fair complexion: every detail reveals the painter's ability to depict a female nude with extreme poetry and sensitivity. The pictorial quality is evident in a strongly personal style, characterized by decisive and textured brushstrokes and a masterful use of light and color. Notice how even the white sheet takes on multiple shades. Its small size makes it even more captivating. A wonderful painting that will enchant your guests! If you love early 20th-century art, you absolutely must add this splendid painting to your collection. The painting is presented in a splendid carved and gilded wooden frame.
