"View of Rocca di Papa" oil on canvas of great quality, dated 1844, work by a landscape painter (the signature is not clearly distinguishable) who fits into that sphere of painting that includes Karoly Marko' the younger, Giacinto Gigante, Massimo D'azeglio, just to name a few, and all those foreign painters who frequented Rome between the late 1700s and the first half of the 1800s.
The painting immortalizes a moment of daily life in Rocca di Papa, with a series of characters, from the most humble to the nobleman on horseback, engaged in various activities, all described meticulously and enveloped in a wonderful light, with a magnificent palette of colors, still sparkling.
Canvas measures 96x136 cm, with frame 122x162 cm.
