Original edition. Nine volumes in-4°, with thousands of pages of text and 720 plates hors texte, in original coloring. Beautiful contemporary binding in half brown morocco, smooth spines adorned with triple gilded and blind-stamped fillets, marbled paper boards. Important work of scientific popularization, perfectly complete with all the engraved plates. The greatest scientists of the time, including the famous d'Orbigny, participated under the direction of Guérin.
